6. AI-Generated Content
6.1 Nature of AI-Generated Content
The Service uses artificial intelligence (Google Vertex AI / Gemini) to generate story text, illustrations, quiz questions, intervention guides, and related educational materials (“AI-Generated Content”). You acknowledge that AI-Generated Content is produced by automated systems and may not qualify for copyright protection under applicable law, consistent with the U.S. Copyright Office’s position that works generated entirely by AI lack the human authorship required for copyright registration.
6.2 Platform Ownership of AI-Generated Content
All AI-Generated Content produced through the Service is and shall remain the property of Story Bridge LLC. This includes, without limitation, all story text, illustrations, character designs, quiz content, intervention guides, and any other materials generated by the Service’s AI systems, regardless of who initiated the generation or what inputs were provided. To the extent that any AI-Generated Content is or becomes eligible for intellectual property protection under applicable law, you hereby assign to Story Bridge LLC all right, title, and interest in and to such AI-Generated Content.
6.3 License to Use AI-Generated Content
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and your active subscription, Story Bridge grants your school or district a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use AI-Generated Content generated through your account solely for internal educational purposes, including delivering SEL interventions to enrolled students. This license does not include the right to:
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute AI-Generated Content;
- Use AI-Generated Content to train competing AI models or services;
- Claim copyright or other intellectual property rights in AI-Generated Content; or
- Use AI-Generated Content after termination of your subscription, except for content already delivered to students during the active subscription period.
6.4 Shared Content Library
You acknowledge and agree that Story Bridge may use AI-Generated Content, in whole or in part, to:
- Build and maintain a shared library of educational stories and illustrations available to other subscribers of the Service;
- Improve, refine, or enhance the Service’s content generation capabilities;
- Create derivative or adapted works based on AI-Generated Content for use across the platform; and
- Display AI-Generated Content in marketing, demonstrations, or research materials.
AI-Generated Content reused in the shared library will be de-identified and will not contain any student personally identifiable information (PII) or information that could identify the originating school or district.
6.5 Distinction Between User Inputs and AI Outputs
These Terms distinguish between:
- User Inputs: Information you provide to the Service, including student names, grade levels, behavioral themes, character preferences, educational goals, and counselor instructions. User Inputs containing student data remain the property of the school or district as set forth in Section 5 and are governed by FERPA.
- AI-Generated Content: Materials produced by the Service’s AI systems in response to User Inputs. AI-Generated Content is the property of Story Bridge LLC as set forth in Section 6.2.
Story Bridge will never use User Inputs containing student PII for any purpose other than generating the specific content requested by the Authorized User. Student PII is stripped before any AI-Generated Content enters the shared library or is used to improve the Service.
6.6 Human Review Required
All AI-Generated Content must be reviewed by an Authorized User before being made available to students. You are responsible for ensuring content is age-appropriate and therapeutically suitable. Story Bridge does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-Generated Content.
6.7 No Guarantee of Uniqueness
AI-Generated Content may be similar to content generated for other subscribers of the Service. Story Bridge does not guarantee that AI-Generated Content will be unique or exclusive to your school or district.
6.8 No PII in AI Processing
Student personally identifiable information is not sent to AI models. Story generation uses only themes, character descriptions, and educational goals provided by the counselor. Student names are excluded from AI prompts.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, functionality, algorithms, AI models, code, documentation, and branding, is the property of Story Bridge LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. All AI-Generated Content constitutes Platform Intellectual Property as set forth in Section 6. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Service.
Content on this marketing website (articles, research briefs, images) is owned by Story Bridge LLC. You may share links to our content but may not reproduce it without written permission.
8. Subscription and Payment
Access to the Story Bridge platform is provided through school or district subscriptions. Subscription terms, pricing, story quotas, and payment schedules are specified in the separate service agreement or purchase order between Story Bridge and the subscribing school or district.
Story Bridge reserves the right to modify pricing for future subscription periods with at least 60 days’ written notice.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate the subscription in accordance with the terms of the service agreement. Upon termination:
- The school may request an export of all student data before the termination date
- All student data will be deleted within 30 days of termination
- Educator accounts will be deactivated
